Facebook is launching a new project

Facebook, which has been plagued by difficulties lately, is announcing the news: According to the BBC, the giant technology company plans to employ 10,000 people in the EU. As it is known, the newly hired employees of the so-called They will work on the development of “Metavers”.

What is “Metavers”?

The company defines “Metavers” as an online world where people can play, work and communicate in a virtual environment, and to perform this “job” they will have to use special headphones. This is in order for the employees to get specific instructions from the founder of Facebook – Mark Zuckerberg, whose idea was to develop “Metavers”.

According to unofficial information, the introduction of this innovation by Facebook took place after the recent scandal: tightening of regulations for the company is increasingly demanded, and the regulations will drastically reduce the impact of one of the leading social networks in the world.

To dispel the allegations against the company, Facebook is in a hurry to launch the Metavers project, as the company expects it to have the potential to develop new creative, socio-economic opportunities. As for why it is planned to hire EU citizens for the development of the new project, Facebook says that “Europeans have all the necessary skills for this.” It is also known that in the next 5 years the company will create additional new jobs, which will unite “highly specialized engineers”.

The Facebook administration explains why the EU was specifically chosen

Another major reason why the EU was specifically selected for the development of Metavers, according to the Facebook administration, is access to a large consumer market, which can be considered a significant advantage. The company explains that potential employees will be selected based on their level of higher education and talent, as the Metavers project will soon become one of Facebook’s top priorities.

According to the information available at the moment, $ 50 million has been allocated for the new project, although it is not ruled out that funding for the project will increase over time. The exact date when the work on “Metavers” will be completed is not specified at this stage, the Facebook administration thinks that the full implementation of the idea may take 10-15 years.

Critics even say that the announcement of Facebook’s new project serves to restore the company’s reputation and divert attention from current events. Recall that Facebook’s internal research has shown that Instagram has a negative impact on the mental health of adults. Francis Haugen, a former employee of the company, claims that these findings were not deliberately made public.
