Elon Musk becomes 100% owner of Twitter – agreement reached
The agreement between the richest man in the world and the board of directors of Twitter has finally been reached, Elon Musk will become the owner of 100% of the company for $ 44 billion.
The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX expressed a desire to buy the social network two weeks ago and made a corresponding offer, Musk expressed readiness to pay $ 54.20 for each share of the company, which is 38% more than the trading price recorded before its first investment.
According to Elon Musk, he plans to significantly raise the standards of protection of freedom of speech and expression on Twitter, and virtually lift existing censorship. He explained that the acquisition of Twitter does not serve commercial interests and the billionaire does not invest to make a profit from the social network.
It is noteworthy that initially Musk’s intention was not met positively by the Twitter Board of Directors and some steps were taken to stop it, although it seems to be in vain.
