Elon Musk said that he agreed to buy Twitter if the social network would provide evidence of the authenticity of the accounts it verified. In July, he announced he was rejecting the deal because Twitter did not want to disclose information about the number of bots.
“If Twitter simply provides their method of sampling 100 accounts and how they’re confirmed to be real, the deal should proceed on original terms. However, if it turns out that their SEC filings are materially false, then it should not,” Mr. Musk wrote on Twitter.
