New details on Starship and the accelerator have emerged from an interview with Elon Musk.
As it turned out SpaceX was going to pull the Starship into orbit. After performing 3/4 of the full rotation around the planet, the starfish will slow down and start landing. Starship is scheduled to sink to the Hawaiian Islands.
As for the accelerator: this time we can not see the accelerator landing on the ground. It will sink into the Atlantic Ocean 30 miles from the SpaceX base.
According to Musk, such a strategy is aimed at avoiding damage to the zero module (so called platform from which the rocket flies) because, as he says, building runways is more expensive than the rocket itself.
The purpose of this flight is to test systems, including; Ceramic heat-resistant layer attached to the strap, new modifications of the raft engine, body durability, accelerator stabilizers.
Musk said he would be very pleased if the rocket did not explode on the ground during launch and did not destroy the takeoff tower.
