Elon Musk’s company SpaceX, in partnership with Axiom Space, has successfully completed the first fully private mission to the International Space Station.
As part of a mission known as Ax-1, the Falcon 9 rocket took off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on April 8 at 19:17 Tbilisi time and sent a 4-man crew in the direction of a module orbiting the Earth.
This was the fifth flight in a row for the first stage of this particular rocket. The booster returned 9.5 minutes after launch and landed on a special seating platform in the Atlantic Ocean.
The capsule joined the Crew Dragon International Space Station on April 9, at 16:29 Tbilisi time. The crew members, who paid up to $ 55 million for the flight, joined the 7 astronauts on the ISS.
They will spend a total of 8 days there and during this time will conduct 25 scientific experiments. Including an experienced brain activity recorder helmet to try to determine how this organ works in space. Also, the subject of study will be the aging process, stem cells, heart health and more.
